On December 2, 2022, our company proudly relaunched with a new-look brand more than two years in the making. Brought to life by co-founder and executive director Tony Geagea, the rebrand, represented by a bold new website, logo and “MORETHAN” tagline, changes our company’s name from Ethan Group to ETHAN.
“Ethan is more than just a new brand — it’s our identity reimagined,” said Geagea, speaking at the swanky launch event which was thrown at our North Ryde head office. “The updated brand is our way of showing the world our evolution from a startup IT company to a global technology services provider, and acknowledging our primary investments in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and future-facing telecommunications.”
The event, which included a 30kg whole tuna which was artfully sliced and diced in front of the 100-strong crowd of attendees, marked our 20th year in business. It also celebrated our collective achievements as a company, including:
- 34 percent revenue growth in the 2021-22 financial year, despite the challenges posed by COVID and global economic uncertainty
- 12 percent growth in managed services customers
- 173 new customers added in the past year
- 65 percent growth in technology sourcing revenue compared with the same time last year.
“Under the new brand, Ethan is aiming to double its growth in the next five years as we streamline our services to take advantage of the reality that the market is going through a period of consolidation,” said Geagea. “That will benefit Ethan and our customers because we provide a lot more than the traditional ICT providers. The combination of those integrated services provides more benefit for customers by reducing their IT overhead and costs, all while retaining “a single throat to choke” approach.”
To accelerate this fundamental market transition, we’re proud to announce the opening of five new Ethan facilities locally and around the world, as well as the launch of one of the most advanced Network Intelligence Centres in Australia.
“We’ve built an incredibly solid foundation over the past two decades, and our rebrand stands as a testament to how much power we’ve loaded into our next phase of innovation. It also reflects our commitment to continue investing on behalf of our customers, even in challenging economic times. During the downturn, we didn’t lay off one person. That reflects not only the enduring strength of the business, but our commitment to our staff.”
Speaking at the event was also key industry partner David Liddiard, who took the mic to discuss the next stage in the evolution of Ethan Indigenous, one of Australia’s leading Indigenous led and managed technology enablement businesses. This included the announcement of a cadetship program and a plan to place 80,000 laptops in the hands of Indigenous students.
So thank you to everyone who took part in our launch and here’s to 20 more years of innovation, bold ideas and ballsy moves which help us maintain our status as a single-name-wielding IT darling.
