Ethan has recently completed a $3M contract with the Department of the Environment and Energy, deploying Nutanix hyper converged cloud to its offices across Australia.

The contract, which was awarded to Ethan from the Digital Transformation Agency’s 33-member ICT Hardware and Associated Services Panel, refreshed existing technologies within DEE’s regional and remote offices, including support for staff working across remote national parks.

The deployment was awarded in two separate contracts, with $2.2m given for Nutanix remote site hardware and the remainder dedicated to HCI storage.

“The Department is progressing with its hybrid cloud strategy, maximising scalable on-premise infrastructure in conjunction with key cloud offerings,” a DEE spokesperson told CRN.

“This procurement will contribute to modernisation and expansion of storage and compute to regional and remote sites, increased capacity, availability and performance of core systems, improved scalability of physical infrastructure, improved support and maintenance arrangements across common infrastructure and improve the virtual desktop experience.”

All proposals were evaluated based on suitability, timelines and value for money. Ethan currently works with two in three government agencies to provide IT support and procurement services.
